Completing an internship as part of the Advertising course curriculum is an imperative and distinctive mark on a resume for students. What makes our internship program so unique is that credit will only be given for cooperative learning Professional Internships, which are only available through the Advertising Department. These Professional Internships are essential to an advertising student’s education and guarantee that:

  • The work assignment at the agency will be modeled on an entry-level professional position in one department.
  • A Principal (e.g. President, Partner) of the agency will be a Mentor to the Intern, meeting with the intern several times for informal progress reports.
  • The Agency will make every effort to structure the Internship so that when the student comes to the end of their allotted time, they will exit with some professional product as evidence of their experience.
  • At the conclusion of the Professional Internship, the Agency will provide the Advertising Department with a regular and formal Personnel Evaluation of the Intern’s work on an appropriate agency Human Resources form.

The result of this unique opportunity will be real professional experience, evaluated in a professional way, and conducted in a mentoring environment by some of the best in the business.
