Biography

Howard A. Myrick, media specialist, motion picture and television producer, broadcast manager, is currently Professor of Communications, School of Communications and Theater in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to assuming these duties, Dr. Myrick served as Chairman of the Department of Radio – Television – Film at Temple. Before joining Temple. Dr. Myrick was Chairman of Radio, Television and Film at Howard University. Prior to joining Howard University, Dr. Myrick was General Manager of radio station WCLK-FM and professor of Mass Communications at Clark College, Atlanta University Center in Atlanta, GA.

Myrick’s professional career in telecommunications encompasses local, national and international radio, television, film and multi-media programs. The following are some of the relevant professional experiences which characterize his career:

Director of Research, Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Washington, D.C.

Consultant, Youth and Violence Prevention Project, Philadelphia Commissioner of Health (funded by the Centers for Disease Control)

Director, American Forces Radio-Television-Service, Washington (AFRTS) World Wide

Director/General Manager, American Forces Radio-Television Network, Republic of Korea

Consultant and member of Panel of Media Experts to U.S. Office of Education/HEW

Professor of Communications at Howard University’s School of Communications

Audio Visual Officer, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs

Director/General Manager, Educational Television Division, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. Fort Leavenworth, KS.
