Three FMA graduate students screen at Scribe Video Center

For over 15 years the Philadelphia Independent Film Video Association has supported the completion of independent films through the PIFVA Subsidy Grant program. This program features films by recent grant recipients, including three FMA graduate students’ projects:

Fiona Otway’s Kiss the Paper (2011, 19:45 min) is a poetic documentary that contemplates the revival of the nearly obsolete, centuries-old craft of letterpress printing.

Malia Bruker’s Chase (2011, 13 min) A playful reaction to the absurdity of marketing and a heartfelt yearning for simpler ways of communicating. It explores the isolating nature of modern life in this comedic documentary.

Doris Chia-ching Lin’s Drop Dead Gorgeous (2011, 9 min) is a dark surreal mystery that explores the deathly intimacy between two people. Obsessed over the possible infidelity of their marriage, the couple plays a fatal scrabble game.
