Summer Owls Leadership Experience for high school students

Why wait until after graduating from high school to experience everything Temple University has to offer?

The Summer Owls Leadership Experience for rising high school juniors and seniors runs from July 13 to Aug. 2, 2014. Talented students will have the opportunity to take college-level courses, selecting from topics in business, health professions, media and communication and science.

Over a three-week period, motivated students will take part in a fast-paced academic experience and engage in campus activities at a nationally and internationally recognized university. Students will live on campus in one of Temple’s residence halls close to all of the resources of the university.

The School of Media and Communication will offer a 3-credit course this summer called “The Future of Your TV.”

MSP0821: The Future of Your TV
Do you ever think about what TV will be like in the future? How will digital technologies such as blogs, podcasts, YouTube and Netflix expand TV into a medium where consumers drive content? Through interactive in-class activities, multimedia presentations and lectures, hands-on collaborative video-production projects, tours of Temple’s TV studios and traditional classroom seminars, you will learn about TV’s new landscape, create and critique content, and discuss trends in technology and TV programming.
