Post Production Tutorials

Comment below and on each of the tutorial pages with any questions, concerns or corrections that you may have.

 
Read the tutorials below and learn how to archive your video work and upload it to the web properly using Final Cut Pro and Compressor. You will also find out how to prepare your videos for TUTV (click here to submit your work now). Read the tutorials that correspond to what you used to shoot your footage. For example, if you shot your video using a Standard Definition (SD) camera with a 4:3 aspect ratio, navigate to the DV NTSC (4:3 aspect ratio) section under Standard Definition Tutorials.

How to Submit to TUTV

If you are a part of a class at the School of Media and Communication (SMC) that is producing video content, such as the Philadelphia Neighborhoods or Crossroads courses, follow the steps listed below.  If you are not a part of a class, please use the Submission form on TempleTV.net. Be sure to read the TUTV Submission Policy to ensure you are not in violation of any pre-existing copyrights.

For work produced as a dart of an SMC class

1. Your professor must review your work in its entirety before submitting it to TUTV.

2. Transfer a copy of your project as an uncompressed (Apple Pro Res 422) .mov file to a flash or hard drive.

  • The file must be titled with the following naming convention: Name of Show_Episode Title_Episode Number. If there is no episode number or title, include your name in the title.

3. Include a text file with the following information on your drive: a 2-3 sentence description of the show and a list of credits. The text file must be named in the same way as the .mov file.

4. Lastly, bring the drive to TUTV Master Control on the first floor of Annenberg Hall.  If you are having trouble finding someone in Master Control, email bella@temple.edu to arrange a submission date and time.
