Program Dates and Application Deadlines
Apply early. Applications are reviewed on a rolling admissions basis and recently programs have been filling before posted deadlines leading to a wait list. However, late applications will be considered if full enrollment has not been reached by the deadline.

- Two academic references from college professors or teaching assistants (TA’s).
- An essay approximately 1-2 pages (500 words) long describing how this program would contribute to your personal and academic development.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
- You are currently enrolled as a full-time, matriculated student and will have completed at least two years of college-level study.
- You will undertake a full-time program of study at Temple University London and will be applying credits earned towards a degree.
- You are in good academic and disciplinary standing; students on academic or disciplinary probation or warning may not participate.
- Non-Temple students must submit an official transcript to SMC Study Away.

South Africa

- A current résumé.
- An essay approximately 1-2 pages (500 words) long describing how this program would contribute to your personal and academic development.
- Students will need to select one of the following tracks:
- Research students must have taken an introductory research methods class or equivalent.
- Production students must have taken an introductory video production class or equivalent.
- Production (photography) students who wish to participate in the Market Photo Workshop program must have taken an introductory photography class or equivalent
- Within the application, students will be asked to provide evidence of their proficiency in their selected track so you are encouraged to apply early. See below for further details if you do not meet the minimum requirements of the program or are in the process of completing required courses.

- Recommended language proficiency:
- Barcelona – Knowledge of the language is not required, however, the more Spanish a student speaks the more internship opportunities that are available;
- Costa Rica – An intermediate level of Spanish proficiency is recommended for the most competitive internships, however, lower proficiency may be acceptable for some internships;
- Hong Kong – No level of Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) proficiency is required to participate and an abundant number of internships in all areas are available in English only. Those students that do have proficiency in either language, however, will have an exceptional number of internship opportunities available to them.
