Semester Tuition and Fees

All students are billed Temple tuition, plus housing, program, university services, and an international insurance fee.

Tuition for full-time undergraduate SMC students (12-17 credits):*
PA state residents: $7,453
Non-PA residents: $12,466

*Please note that the tuition rates listed above are simply an example of tuition rates for an undergraduate student whose home school is the School of Media and Communication. Students will be charged their home school tuition regardless of participation in a program offered through the School of Media and Communication. See the Bursar’s website to calculate your tuition rate. Tuition rates are subject to change and are updated in July for the upcoming academic year.

*Housing and program fees are just estimates; this fee will be updated for Fall 2015 and Spring 2016. All estimated costs are subject to change and should be used as a guideline only. Accepted students will receive updated, detailed cost information as soon as it is available after the application deadline.
*Please note that the housing and program fee will be combined on your Temple bill as a “Study Away Fee.”
*Program fees do not include meals, but kitchen facilities are available.

– Comprehensive on-site orientation
– Wireless internet access in all residences and host institutions
– Comprehensive medical insurance
– Various course-related co- and extra-curricular activities, including study tours to Northern and Western Ireland
– Comprehensive travel insurance
– Self-catered shared student housing
– Student Card
– Mobile phone sim card plus credit upon arrival
– Various course-related co-curricular activities including 2 weekend study tours
– Access to a subsidized calendar of extra-curricular events
– 24-hour emergency support

Other estimated costs:
– Passport (for a new one, fees can total $120)
– Student Visa fees: $530 (subject to change)
– Meals: $2,500 (an average for a semester)
– Daily expenses: $2,500 (an average for a semester)
– Cell phone rental estimate for 3 months: $150
– Theater tickets, required for students enrolled in Theater 1002: $360 (subject to change)
– Roundtrip airfare from Philadelphia: $1,200-1,400
