Ready to become an undergraduate student in Temple’s School of Media and Communication?
Here’s a quick rundown of the initial steps you need to complete in order to apply.

Create Your TUportal Account
TUportal is your gateway to apply to Temple, check your application status, schedule a visit and more. To join TUportal, sign up for our mailing list. You’ll receive an email about creating an account within 24 hours.
Schedule a Visit
Attend an information session, talk to students, tour campus, and find out all that Temple and the School of Media and Communication have to offer. Schedule a visit today.
Complete Your Application
Your TUportal account, Temple’s online application or the Common Application are the quickest ways to apply. There’s a $55 application fee unless you qualify for a fee waiver (available only to freshmen).
To apply to SMC, select your major on your application to Temple.
Submit Your Supporting Credentials
In addition to your application, send us your supporting credentials, including
- your application essay,
- a list of your extracurricular activities,
- your official transcripts and
- your SAT/ACT scores.
If you want to apply without submitting your test scores, you may use Temple Option.
Track Your Application Status on TUportal
After you’ve created your TUportal account, you can track the status of your application.
