An internship opens doors of all kinds for our students. Internships provide students with an opportunity to build their resumes and apply their classroom experience to the business world. Internships enable students to meet new people and develop significant professional networks and personal connections. Internships are designed, first and foremost, to provide students with a valuable learning experience. Internships are often a springboard for future careers upon graduation.
Advertising faculty work closely with employers to ensure that interns are treated with respect and that their work is valued by the organization. When students complete their internship, they prepare a portfolio of work that is a valuable asset to take with them on future job interviews.
Internships are often available at:
- Advertising agencies
- Marketing departments of corporations
- Interactive agencies
- Media buying/planning firms
- Hospitality and tourism venues
- Television, radio, print and online media outlets
- Production companies
…and many others.
The advertising department maintains a Listserv that notifies advertising students of internship opportunities on a daily basis.

In order to register for the internship class, you must be a junior or a senior in the advertising department.
