Most Strategic Communication majors complete an internship or a communication field experience before graduation, which allows them to receive academic credit for industry experience. Both types of real-world experience are strongly suggested, because they allow you to apply your skills to specific jobs and make valuable professional connections.

You can also find internship and communication field experience opportunities on the undergraduate Strategic Communication listserv, created especially for current students, prospective students and alumni. The listserv provides you with a wide variety of important information, including

  • details about course offerings, events and activities; scholarship and financial aid opportunities; changes in Temple University policies and services; and much more.
  • answers to your questions about courses, schedules and policies; how to find various library resources; where to purchase and how to operate computer hardware and software; and much more.
  • networking opportunities in the Department of Strategic Communication.

Departmental permission, a minimum 2.5 GPA and 15 credit hours completed in your major are required for internships. To subscribe to the Strategic Communication listserv, contact Demaris Watford at
