Dublin Program Costs

Semester Program

The following costs are included in your bill from Temple.

  • Tuition for full-time undergraduate SMC students (12–17 credits):*
    Pennsylvania residents: $8,299
    Out-of-state residents: $13,211
  • Study Away Program fee AY17-18: $9,100
  • University Services fee: $445
  • International insurance fee: $190**

The estimated totals of undergraduate billed expenses are*
Pennsylvania state residents: $18,034
Out-of-state residents: $22,946

NOTES: *The tuition rates listed above are simply an example of tuition rates for undergraduate students whose home school is the School of Media and Communication. Students will be charged their home school tuition regardless of participation in a program offered through the School of Media and Communication. **The international insurance fee reflects the fall 2016 and spring 2017 semesters. Costs are subject to change. 

The amenities included in the Study Away Program fee are

  • comprehensive onsite orientation;
  • wireless internet access in all residences and host institutions;
  • comprehensive medical insurance;
  • various course-related co- and extracurricular activities, including study tours to Northern and Western Ireland;
  • comprehensive travel insurance;
  • self-catered shared student housing;
  • a student card;
  • various course-related co-curricular activities, including two weekend study tours;
  • access to a subsidized calendar of extracurricular events; and
  • 24-hour emergency support.

The costs that are not billed to your Temple account are

  • a new passport (fees can total $120);
  • student visa fees ($530 and subject to change);
  • daily expenses: $2,500 (an average of $2,500 per semester);
  • three-month cell phone rental (approximately $150)***; and
  • roundtrip airfare from Philadelphia ($1,200–$1,400).

The estimated total of non-billable expenses is $7,200.

***All students are required to have a local, in-country phone number.

Summer Program

The following costs are included in your bill from Temple.

  • Tuition for full-time undergraduate SMC students (6 credits)****
    Pennsylvania residents: $3,828
    Out-of-state residents: $5,784
  • Study Away Summer 2017 Program fee: $5,000†
  • University services fee: $155
  • International insurance fee: $60

The estimated totals of undergraduate billed expenses are****

Out-of-state residents: $10,999

Program fees do not include meals, but kitchen facilities are available.

The amenities included in the Study Away Program fee are

  • a welcome lunch;
  • various trips and excursions in and around Dublin, including two weekend trips to Northern Ireland and Cork;
  • shared student housing in apartments in Dublin, with wireless internet access in all residences and host institutions;
  • comprehensive onsite orientation and a tour of the city;
  • access to a subsidized calendar of extracurricular events;
  • a comprehensive health insurance and travel insurance package;
  • a student card; and
  • 24-hour emergency support.

The costs that are not billed to your Temple account are

  • a new passport (fees can total $120),
  • meals (about $1,500 for a five-week period),
  • daily expenses: $900 (an average of $900 for a five-week period),
  • cell phone rental (approximately $150)‡ and
  • roundtrip airfare from Philadelphia ($800–$1,400).

The estimated total of non-billable expenses is $3,690.
